Operation “Know the Limit” Results
From April 2nd to April 16th the Saugeen Shores Police Service conducted a traffic enforcement and awareness campaign targeting speeders on our roadways.
Operation “Know the Limit” resulted in officers laying 50 tickets for speeding and several more for other Highway Traffic Act offences.
Usually when gauging increased enforcement, our service references the previous year during the same reporting period. In 2020 officers were employing a modified approach to enforcement, due to the many unknown variables and risks of the new corona virus pandemic. Instead the comparison will be drawn from results in 2019. In that same reporting that year period officers laid 28 tickets for speeding.
The Saugeen Shores Police Service is committed to making our community the safest it can be. Our officers will continue to conduct high enforcement activities to slow drivers down and ensure compliance with all road laws.
