Weapons and Drug Offences
On June 20th at 7:40am officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a male and female drinking liquor in a vehicle at the Port Elgin Beach.
Officers arrived on scene and observed a baseball bat leaning against the vehicle. A male was seated in the passenger seat with an open bottle of rum. A female was in the driver’s seat and a young child in the back seat.
Officers commenced an at scene investigation. Located in the vehicle was a pellet handgun concealed is manner that was clearly not for a recreational purpose. Also located in the vehicle was a quantity of suspected cocaine.
The male is currently on a release order with a condition to not possess weapons or firearms.
Both the male and female were arrested and transported to the police station.
A 24 year old Owen Sound man has been charged with:
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Fail to comply with a release order
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a schedule 1 Substance (cocaine)
A 26 year old Owen Sound woman has been charged with:
- Possession of schedule 1 substance (cocaine)
Both were released with a court date.
