Media Release – Robbery and Weapons Offences
On June 7th at approximately 3:30am officers were called to investigate a disturbance at an address in Port Elgin.
Officers attended and located male in distress suffering from minor injuries. The victim reported to police that he had been assaulted with a weapon and robbed of cash.
An investigation identified a male who was later arrested and charged with several offences. Another male is still outstanding on the charges and a warrant has been obtained for his arrest.
A 30 year old Grey County man has been charged with:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Assault with a weapon
- Fail to comply with a probation order
The Grey County man was held for a bail hearing. The investigation into this occurrence is ongoing.
