Drug Trafficking and Impaired Driving Incidents
Media Release – Drug Trafficking and Impaired Driving Arrests
On May 23th, 2019 officers from the Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit conducted a street level drug investigation in Port Elgin. A 30 year old male from Port Elgin was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking Schedule 1 – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
- Fail to Comply with a Recognizance
He was held for a bail hearing.
On May 23th, 2019 at 9:15am the Saugeen Shores Police received a call for service concerning a suspected impaired driver in Southampton.
Officers located a female operating a mini-van near Emerald Drive. Officer spoke to the female and made observations of impairment by a drug.
She was arrested and charged with – Operation While Impaired – DRUGS.
A 52 year old Southampton woman was released with a notice to appear in court.
