Fall Seat Belt Awareness Campaign Results
Media Release - Fall Seat Belt Awareness Campaign Results
On September 27th, 2018 the Saugeen Shores Police Service launched the “Fall Seatbelt Awareness Campaign” concluding on October 12th.
Officers actively sought out violators. During this time period 12 people were charged with seatbelt related violations, which is a significant increase over the same time period last year.
The cost to the violators is $240 and two demerit points. This can be considered a small price to pay in relation to costs resulting from serious collisions where drivers and passengers are not restrained.
Many fatal collisions are avoidable if you can take the two seconds to buckle up.
