Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

On September 11, 2018 at approximately 10:45pm an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in the area of Ivings Drive and Goderich St.  During this stop the officer observed what was believed to be a controlled substance located inside the vehicle.  As the officer was removing the driver from the vehicle to affect an arrest, the driver accelerated quickly and fled area at a high rate of speed.  The fleeing vehicle sped south along Goderich St and was last seen east bound on Concession 6. The vehicle was being driven in such a manner that it put other motorists and pedestrians at risk.

The vehicle was located several hours later with extensive damage near the intersection of 18/19 Side Road and Concession 2 upside down in shallow creek.  The driver had fled the area on foot.

An arrest warrant is being sought for a 31 year old Hanover man for dangerous driving.

UPDATE:

A Hanover man has been arrested by members of the Hanover Police Service on an outstanding warrant stemming from an incident in Saugeen Shores on September 12th, 2018.

On September 11th Saugeen Shores officers attempted to arrest the man for possession of a controlled substance, when he fled in his vehicle to escape custody.  At the time of the escape, the vehicle was observed to be operated in a manner that was dangerous to the public.

On September 12th the vehicle that was operated by the man was located upside down, abandoned, in a shallow creek in Saugeen Township.
