Drug Investigations

The policing community recognizes much of the crime committed in Saugeen Shores is spin off crimes of drug activity, your police service has a dedicated Drug Investigation unit. This officer works hand in hand with the Criminal Investigation branch and Uniform members.

Our Drug Investigation branch works closely with the three area Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), West Grey Police, Hanover Police, Owen Sound Police and Wingham Police. Occasionally other police services from across the province work with our service to investigate drug crimes.

We partner with the RCMP for Project O SABOT. This program targeted drug cultivation and our officers worked together with many police services across our region to eradicate marihuana.

We partnered with the RCMP for Project O CURE. This program targeted drug traffickers in Saugeen Shores with undercover officers. This project lead to the arrest and warrants issued for three local drug traffickers. 

We work on an ongoing basis with the OPP and local municipal police services to fight drug activity.
